  1. I LOVE your website! I found you via Pinterest. Every time I looked for something makeup related, there you are! Tomorrow, I'm going from shoulder-blade length hair to a pixie cut. I just turned 40, I just lost my mom after a year-long battle with cancer, and I'm ready for a big change. I am totally a wash-and-go girl and my main concern is I don't want to look like a boy. I NEED to start wearing makeup. Just today I bought 3 lipsticks at a drugstore and learned, once again, I can't pick out makeup to save my life. I need a makeover. Can you recommend a quality department store brand that will help me look natural without a million steps and not a HUGE cost. I don't mind paying, but I don't want to get totally ripped off, either. I trust your opinion and can't wait to see your response.

  2. So glad you enjoy the blog! As far as department store brands go, I would say your best bet would be Clinique. Their products are a lot more affordable than other similar brands, and their employees are always willing to help and give samples when you're feeling overwhelmed by too many options. Clinique is also known for pieces that bring out your natural beauty, so I think it would be a great first step into the world of makeup for you! :)

    Best of luck!

  3. thank you for providing alternatives to the high priced cosmetic products. I like YSL Touche éclat foundation - is there a dupe for this.
