Budget Beauty: Naked Palette Dupes!

17 April 2013

Unless you've been living under a makeup-free rock for the last couple of years, you've probably been hearing about (and wanting!) the Urban Decay Naked Palette as much as I have. The reason it's so popular? The Naked Palette has an amazing selection of neutral tones that not only look gorgeous, but have awesome pigmentation on the eyes as well. The only downside to this perfect palette? The $50 price tag.

That's why I've decided to put together a list of all of the best Naked Palette dupes that I have tried out!  Some of the palettes I will be mentioning are also a dupe for the Naked 2 Palette or the latest in the Naked series, Naked Basics. I know everyone has a preference between them, so I figured I might as well include all three in the mix!

Sephora Primal Instincts Eyeshadow Palette- $28
The Primal Instincts Palette is seriously one of the best dupes I've found for the Naked Palette. From the golden champagne of Half Baked to the frosty blue of Gun Metal, all the shades you need for the perfect dupe can be found right here. It's a bit more pricey than some of the other palettes I'll be mentioning, but still about half the price of Naked!

As you guys know, I am an absolute e.l.f. junkie. So when this palette first came out, I seriously could not order it fast enough. It has all the colors you'd find in Naked and Naked 2 (and a whole lot more!) for a ridiculously affordable price.

This palette by Nyx is actually one of my most-used because I love the quality and color payoff of the eyeshadows. Some of the colors may not be exact dupes, but there are others that are literally almost exact matches in color and velvety-smooth application.

So I know this palette is absolutely ginormous and a little overwhelming- but hear me out. The 88 Warm is not only a dupe for the Naked Palette, but also pretty much any other natural eyeshadow palette out there. I mean, is there any color that's not included in there? I know this one won't be good for on-the-go use like Naked, but it makes up for it by being an amazing value.

This palette by Sonia Kashuk is actually a really great dupe for the Naked Basics Palette. All of the colors are matte, which is great for anyone who is not a fan of the frosty or shimmery shades found in most palettes.  Plus, for $7 less than Naked Basics you get twice the color selection!

MUA Undressed Palette- £4 (approximately $6)
This palette was reader-submitted by Kitty. I have not tried it myself so I cannot speak for quality, however the color selection is absolutely spot-on! Thanks Kitty!

This is a reader submission from Taylor. I have not tried this exact palette, but all of the Forever 21 eyeshadow palettes I have tried have been super pigmented and really good quality! Thanks for the suggestion, Taylor!

This gorgeous little Naked dupe was submitted by Elle! While it may be missing some of the cooler tones found in Naked like the frosty pinks and purples, it certainly has a great selection of golds and browns that are very similar!

That's all for my favorite Naked Palette Dupes! If you've found any other palettes you think are a good dupe, please feel free to let me know in the comments down below! I'd love to add some more reader-submitted ideas to this post!

P.S.- For more Naked palette dupes, check out my article on The Beauty Bar!

  3. I have been looking for a good duplicate for my naked palette. i've used up at least 3 colors in it and didn't want to spend $50 on a new one just for a few colors! I am getting the coastal scents because, like you said, what neutral/natural color does it not have?!?!? Thanks so much! :-D

I started following you today too... if you want to follow me back i'm at http://geekyvisions1217.blogspot.com/

  8. The new Physicians Formula "Nude" palette looks like it meant to be an exact knock off. They have 3 different color sets for natural, classic, and warm.

  10. If you don't mind loose mineral eyeshadows, Silk Naturals has a set of eyeshadows that are pretty much an exact dupe of the Naked Palette: http://host.silknaturals.com/creb/naked-palette-clone-p-1200.html It's more expensive than some of the ones you posted, but you get a ton of eyeshadow in each jar!

  14. This is a link to the neutral eye palette I swear by. Unfortunately, NYX discontinued it, so there are only a few out there, and the price has gone up from $9 a few months ago to about $32 now. If you are able to find a palette comparable to this, please reply to this comment and let me know!

    1. That palette looks amazing! Such a shame that they hike up the price so much once it's discontinued. Pretty much all of my favorite neutral shadow palettes are included in this post, but I will let you know if I find a dupe for it!!

  15. Which of these palettes are best for people with allergies? I usually use Benefit, Urban Decay, or Clinique and Neutrogena. Are any of these brands listed above similar?

    1. I'm honestly not sure Jess, I haven't had an issue with any of them! You may wan to check with your dermatologist to find out what ingredients you are allergic to, so you can check for them before buying a product :)

  17. I just came across your blog (via Pinterest of course!) and I was wondering if you've seen this website (which I also found through Pinterest). Supposedly you can get the Naked Pallette for $13.78! I haven't ordered from them...so who knows if it's a scam or what...

    1. Lol, Pinterest power! One thing I've learned about websites like that is if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. What you'd be getting is more than likely a "replica" of the Naked palette. Kind of like a knockoff version of a designer purse. Obviously, that means it won't be Urban Decay quality, but you will get similar colors and packaging. Here's a Youtube comparison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpA-4nv87Vc

      Hope that helped! :)

  18. Sorry to say but the hard candy dupe is awful I have it and it just doesnt work for me. when swatched on skin its great but once it is applied to the eye its just a mess.

  19. Two palettes worth purchasing are the profusion ones called midnight fever and sultry and neutrals. I bought them both for $7, and although they are not exact dupes, some of the colors are the same and there is a great color selection with both matte and shimmer shadows. Also, they are both about as big as the naked palettes so for the price they are an amazing value

    ReplyDelete
  20. I keep finding my way back to your page, and you really do have the best lists of knock-offs! Thank you for your "research" ;)

  21. Really great! Thanks for sharing x

  22. Check out Wet N' Wild. Nude Awakening on Pinterest or YouTube tutorials. It's the best!!!! Super pigmented and the colors are exact!!! I found mine on Ebay.

    ReplyDelete
  23. There are palettes called Nearly Nude and Barely There that are absolutely amazing and pretty close to the Naked palette. I believe at the Icing. I'm pretty sure that I only paid about 14$ for the Nearly Nude and 12$ for Barely There.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The NYX neutrals palette is great, too! Doesn't have as many colors as the Naked palette, but they're great and very pigmented!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I don't have the Naked palette so I can't personally compare it with my Chi Chi Glamorous Nude palette but I have read some reviews that they're a great dupe for Australians since we don't have Urban Decay here! :)
